A Bunch of Dads Singing Little Mermaid Because Having Daughters Made Them Memorize It

Says Patrick Quinn, co-creator of this video of dads (and some uncles) belting out “Part of Your World” because they all know the words so why not:

Once you have a daughter, no matter how tough, thuggish, or introverted you might be, you’re going to play princess with reckless abandon in front of others knowing that if anyone sees you they’re going to understand. Especially if that someone is another dad.

The Evening Beach

I’ve been to the beach only once, and it was a new moon that night. Even though I didn’t get to see any of the waves clearly, I still heard the shore rise to my ears.

Sitting there, then laying there on the beach, with my fingers linked together making a small pillow for me, I was thinking:

You know that stereotype of sun-beach babes and beach bums and beach parties and what not that makes the beach sound like a great place? I think that stereo type comes only true at day. Because at night, the beach sounds so lonely.

Its like singing a really sad song to me. Cradling me with its soft crashes.

But as I look into the star spotted sky I start to enjoy this scene of invisible waves and secluded skies.

Sit on the sand with me and you’ll hear the woe it played for me on that evening beach, too.
